Saturday

The eyes of the Lord are upon even the weakest worshipers who love him— those who wait in hope and expectation for the strong, steady love of God. (‭‭Psa 33:18‬)

Our GOD can (and will) come through for us in the most amazing ways. One that sticks in my mind was from a missionary to the Amazon. He told us that he was in a party of 3 missionaries who were trying to cross a particularly difficult river during monsoon. The river wasn’t particularly deep but it was running fast and so they needed to keep their footing and walk as best they can. As additional security, they found a log and holding on to it they set out together to wade to the other side.

At the half way point the river was almost over their heads and the missionary told us that he couldn’t feel the bottom any longer, so he hung on for fear of life, but the other two must have, as the log continued on a straight line to the other bank.

Once there the missionary thanked the other two for saving his life by keeping on walking when he couldn’t any longer. The other two bowed their heads in awe and confessed that they too couldn’t feel the bottom any longer, so they too just hung on to the log in fear.

So no ones feet guided the log against the pull of the river and it’s strong current, and yet all of them arrived safely.

Be encouraged Child of the Living GOD. We serve an awesome GOD. ❤️

Monday

… submit to the authority of those who are your masters—not only to those who are kind and gentle but even to those who are hard and difficult.

You find God’s favour by deciding to please God even when you endure hardships because of unjust suffering. For what merit is it to endure mistreatment for wrongdoing? Yet if you are mistreated when you do what is right, and you faithfully endure it, this is commendable before God.

In fact, you were called to live this way, because Christ also suffered in your place, leaving you his example for you to follow. He never sinned and he never spoke deceitfully. When he was verbally abused, he did not return with an insult; when he suffered, he would not threaten retaliation.

Jesus faithfully entrusted himself into the hands of God, who judges righteously. He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we would be dead to sin and live for righteousness. Our instant healing flowed from his wounding. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:18)

I read this and my heart sinks. Do I really entrust ALL of me to your care Lord? Let me begin with something simple – please help me to stop being so easily hurt and offended. ❤️

Friday

Never retaliate when someone treats you wrongly, nor insult those who insult you, but instead, respond by speaking a blessing over them—because a blessing is what God promised to give you. For the Scriptures tell us:

Whoever wants to embrace true life and find beauty in each day must stop speaking evil, hurtful words and never deceive in what they say. Always turn from what is wrong and cultivate what is good; eagerly pursue peace in every relationship, making it your prize. For the eyes of the Lord Yahweh rest upon the godly, and his heart responds to their prayers. But he turns his back on those who practice evil. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:9)

How many times have I gone round (and around, and around) this mountain. All I an tell you is that if you want to get out from the mess you’re in, and don’t want your prayers hindered, then please take notice of what the Spirit says. ❤️

Sunday

Hatred keeps old quarrels alive, but love draws a veil over every insult and finds a way to make sin disappear. (Pro 10:12‬)

So love finds a way to make sin disappear! What an amazing statement. If GOD has made love that powerful then what do we want from love?

Most of us will agree that when we mess up (and we do – often), we don’t want recrimination. What we actually want is kind, constant, and honest communication. We want to see love in action and not a rebuke. We want to see the seed of hope we have left flourish in a garden of peace. A place of willingness that works through difficulties and disagreements.

Likewise, we all have to go through the stress and strain of daily life, so we want our relationships to be interwoven through with a sense of humor, some fun that will act as a bit of distraction from all the la la the world throws up.

Bottom line, it’s a scary world out there and who better to help us all through life lessons than the One Who Overcame them all …?!

Lord Jesus, only you can ever know what my heart is feeling right now, and only you can remove and heal me from the harming flotsam and jetsam that wash up onto my shores daily. Come into my life and help me to love as you do me. Amen. ❤️

Saturday

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end…

…we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love. (‭‭1 Cor‬ ‭13) ❤️

Monday

I can testify that the Word is true and deserves to be received by all, for Jesus Christ came into the world to bring sinners back to life—even me, the worst sinner of all! (1 Tim 1:15)

We’re living in unprecedented times where the effects of unchecked fear grows rampant in our society. Fear from false news, fear of Covid-19, fear of job losses, fear of financial issues, fear of physical and mental issues, fear of loneliness, fear of what we’re becoming …!

But take heart, for just like Paul, we too can be saved – even from ourselves!

… I was captured by grace, so that Jesus Christ could display through me the outpouring of his Spirit as a pattern to be seen for all those who would believe in him for eternal life. Because of this my praises rise to the King of all the universe who is indestructible, invisible, and full of glory, the only God who is worthy of the highest honours throughout all of time and throughout the eternity of eternities! Amen! (‭‭1 Tim‬ ‭1:16) ❤️

Tuesday

Who are you, Lord?” “I am Jesus, the Victorious… (‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:5)

My mother tells a story of how at five years old I almost drowned at our local open air Lido swimming pool.

All I remember about the event is an intense emotion rising as I watched everyone around me laughing, jumping in and having fun and I wanted to join in – so I jumped in too!

Unfortunately, as I didn’t know how to swim I just sank like a stone. I remember sitting at the bottom thinking that this isn’t as much fun as I thought it would be, when ‘something’ (a hand) grabbed me by the hair and dragged me back up to the surface and drew me out. I looked around to see who it was and there was no be there – just more kids running, jumping, laughing and playing.

I’m convinced that there will be many opportunities for our Lord to appear and save us even today. Sometimes He’ll appear as Himself and sometimes as someone else, (Jesus with skin on)!

So wherever you are on this journey – or whoever you’re praying for, He won’t (can’t) let us down. Just trust Him to turn up … ❤️

Tuesday

Be good husbands to your wives. Honor them, delight in them.

As women they lack some of your advantages. But in the new life of God’s grace, you’re equals.

Treat your wives, then, as equals so your prayers don’t run aground. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:7‬)

As a I write this, I’m looking at a card that says: “Don’t laugh at your husbands choices, you’re one of them!”

Seeds of anger, bitterness, toxic jealousy, revenge, cannot be allowed to live in us because:

We pray to a GOD Who tells us that He IS Love. We pray from the NEW heart He gave us, a heart of Love. We pray through GOD’s Holy Spirit for those in need, with the compassion that comes from a new heart of Love.

Love one another … ❤️

Thursday

You come at me with sword and spear and battle-ax. I come at you in the name of GOD -of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel’s troops, whom you curse and mock. This very day GOD is handing you over to me. (1 Sam‬ ‭17:45)

We got a beautiful family picture a few years back of a lovely Italian lady, her husband and 3 children. She had visited us when she was pregnant, but worried because this was her fourth pregnancy and each time she had miscarried.

I watched and listened as my wife and a few other women had prayed for her and later she went for a shower. 30 minutes later she came back crying as she had spotted blood in the shower. I remember that instead of sympathy, something powerful rose up in me and I heard myself telling her that this was no time for defeat and she had to rise up like David against Goliath, and tell the devil to “Get off my children!”

She never did miscarry again and like I said, she had two other children since.

Rise up Child of the Living GOD. Take your place besides your Heavenly Father and stand your ground! ❤️

Tuesday

“This is GOD ’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as GOD: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’” (‭‭Jer‬ ‭33:2)

There must be a gazillion testimonies out there of people just like us, who have called out to GOD for help and He supernaturally heard and answered their call.

(Jesus speaking) “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This is not a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your little boy asks for a serving of fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? If your little girl asks for an egg, do you trick her with a spider? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing—you’re at least decent to your own children. And don’t you think the Father who conceived you in love will give the Holy Spirit when you ask him?” (Luke‬ ‭11:10) ❤️
