Monday

GOD, your God, is testing you to find out if you totally love him with everything you have in you. You are to follow only GOD, your God, hold him in deep reverence, keep his commandments, listen obediently to what he says, serve him—hold on to him for dear life! (‭‭Deu 13:3)

As I understand it, swordsmen used to test (or prove) their swords before a battle by whacking the blazes out of them on a tree, or rock. That way they would see for themselves whether the sword would stand the ‘real’ strain of an intense battle!

Doesn’t GOD have the right to test and see if we’ll trust Him enough to stand with Him, or run away to our harm …? ❤️

Thursday

For we all have sinned and are in need of the glory of God. Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His gift of love and favour now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin! (Rom 3:23)

Wow – read it again and think about it … GOD freely gives away his righteousness and his gift of love and favour cascades over us.

Thank you Jesus ❤️

Wednesday

You can recognize fools by the way they give full vent to their rage and let their words fly! But the wise bite their tongue and hold back all they could say.” (Pro 29:11)

My wife would often quote the words of Thumper’s Mother to our girls, “If you haven’t got anything good to say, then don’t say anything at all…!” ❤️

Monday

Here’s what I’ve learned through it all:

Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord.

Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope.

Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you! (Psa 27:14)

If you truly want to be Free, have Peace, Joy, Hope, Life … then don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. ❤️

Thursday

The angel of the Lord stooped down to listen as I prayed, encircling me, empowering me, and showing me how to escape.

He will do this for everyone who fears God. (Psa 34:7)

How beautiful is this Promise!

Yes, indeed—God is my salvation. I trust, I won’t be afraid. GOD —yes GOD!—is my strength and song, best of all, my salvation! (Isa 12:2)

Friday

This “insider world” is not our home. (Heb 13:14)

We’ve all heard the message that we’re all made to be unique and should live that way, unfortunately we all too soon find out that peer pressure is a hard task master.

It’s an intricate web of la la that starts subtly in our formative years and attains full strength by the time we begin to integrate.

We think (hope) that it will end with School, but soon realise that Work is just as bad. But it doesn’t end there. The web of deceit and conformity touches our Home, our Church, even our Play.

The Word of GOD tells us not to compromise and that if we allow ourselves to do whatever it takes to get ‘inside’ we’ll regret it – it isn’t our true home.

Lord Jesus, please open my eyes to see where I’ve compromised my dreams, break me away from whatever I’ve chained myself to. Help me Lord to BE the Child You want me to be! Amen! ❤️

Thursday

… you have had a taste of the goodness of the Lord Jehovah and have experienced his kindness. (1 Peter 2:3)

Lord Jesus, help us to see every problem we face as a pebble to you, and every act of Grace poured onto us as a balloon. Help us not to quit like a sulky child, but to tie the pebble to the balloon and rejoice as it’s lifted heavenward into your loving care. Amen. ❤️
