Keep me safe, O God, I’ve run for dear life to you. I say to GOD, “Be my Lord!” Without you, nothing makes sense.

My choice is you, GOD, first and only. And now I find I’m your choice! You set me up with a house and yard. And then you made me your heir!

The wise counsel GOD gives when I’m awake is confirmed by my sleeping heart. Day and night I’ll stick with GOD; I’ve got a good thing going and I’m not letting go.

I’m happy from the inside out, and from the outside in, I’m firmly formed. You canceled my ticket to hell— that’s not my destination! And these God-chosen lives all around— what splendid friends they make! Don’t just go shopping for a god. Gods are not for sale. I swear I’ll never treat god-names like brand-names.

Now you’ve got my feet on the life path, all radiant from the shining of your face. Ever since you took my hand, I’m on the right way. (‭‭Psa 16)

My Father, my GOD, my safe place. ❤️

The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (Psa ‭23:1)

We all know that humankind has been given free will, and we see the results of our free will choices in the Media ever day – murders, rapes, violence, theft, perversions and worse …

The thing is, Jesus didn’t just die to please an angry GOD, he died so that ‘we’ could ‘be one’ with our Heavenly Father through His Spirit of Truth. A Divine Encourager who could never leave us, never forsake us.

Jesus clearly told us this as He was leaving the Earth, “And I will send you the Divine Encourager from the very presence of my Father. He will come to you, the Spirit of Truth, emanating from the Father, and he will speak to you about me.” (John‬ ‭15:26‬)

So what about our ‘free will? Our ability to think and act as if we were lost and without Christ … Now you must continue to make this new life fully manifested as you live in the holy awe of God—which brings you trembling into his presence.

God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him. (Phil 2:12) ❤️

The LORD is good, A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble;

He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him. (‭‭Nah ‭1:7‬)

Knowing / to be Known.

When you hear long standing friends talk to each other, it’s almost as if they’re using code. You can catch the basic conversation, but you know that there’s an imperceptible thread to the dialogue that you’ll never catch. Their bond is strong and they ‘know each other intimately.’

Likewise when a husband and wife are together, their intimacy is caught through their eye and hand gestures and expressions. All these are a form of ‘knowing each other.’

Our Father longs – yearns for us to ‘know’ him in this way. He invites us into a ‘living’ relationship – a two-way relationship.

His Spirit is calling – will you come? ❤️

If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands.

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour. Take a decisive stand against him and resist his every attack with strong, vigorous faith. For you know that your believing brothers and sisters around the world are experiencing the same kinds of troubles you endure.

And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up.

And he has all the power needed to do this—forever! Amen. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6)

I began with just the first paragraph, but then couldn’t stop adding all the others! Powerful ❤️

… The steps of the God-pursuing ones follow firmly in the footsteps of the Lord, and God delights in every step they take to follow him.

… If they stumble badly they will still survive, for the Lord lifts them up with his hands. I was once young, but now I’m old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry. Instead, I’ve found the godly ones to be the generous ones who give freely to others. Their children are blessed and become a blessing.

… don’t be impatient for the Lord to act; keep moving forward steadily in his ways, and he will exalt you at the right time. And when he does, you will possess every promise, including your full inheritance.

… the Lord will be the Savior of all who love him. Even in their time of trouble God will live in them as strength. Because of their faith in him, their daily portion will be a Father’s help and deliverance from evil. This is true for all who turn to hide themselves in him! (‭‭Psa 37)

Our daily portion will be our Heavenly Father’s help and deliverance from evil … Hallelujah! ❤️

Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. (‭‭Eph 4:30‬)

It was during the early days of my marriage that my wife and I had a huge row. I was still fuming by 10pm and foolishly decided to walk out and go back home to my mother’s house.

The darkness hid my cowardly skulking and the cold sleeting rain my tears.

I could feel the Holy Spirit trying to speak to me, but I didn’t want to listen … then after about 10 minutes I ‘heard’ running footsteps behind me. As they caught up I felt a hand gently searching for mine. I was still angry and shaking the hand away I turned and snapped “GET AWAY FROM ME!”

There was no one there!

‘Something’ in me though told me it was the Lord!

My mother was asleep when I got there so I let myself in quietly and laid on my old bed, I was feeling wretched. What had I just done? It was bad enough falling out with my wife, but now I’d pushed GOD away too! As I lay there in the dark I realised that i had blown it BIG TIME and that nothing mattered anymore. No matter what excuses my mind conjured up, all my pathetic arguments seemed to dissipate into the endless stream of contrite tears from my eyes.

It was hours later when my heart stilled enough to hear His still small voice calling me back – such Joy!

I think I was still apologising to the Lord and my wife for weeks afterward… ❤️

… so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations.

Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty!

At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me, “My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.”

Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness.

Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become. (‭‭2 Cor 12:7)

Great truth. We can either spend all our time whingeing, whining and begging GOD to ‘take it all away,’ or we can quit focussing on the handicap and ‘appreciate the gift of Grace.’ And the weaker you get – the stronger He becomes in you! ❤️
