All you lovers of God who want to please him, come and listen, and I’ll tell you what he did for me. I cried aloud to him with all my heart and he answered me! Now my mouth overflows with the highest praise.

Yet if I had closed my eyes to my sin, the Lord God would have closed his ears to my prayer. But praises rise to God, for he paid attention to my prayer and answered my cry to him!

I will forever praise this God who didn’t close his heart when I prayed and never said no when I asked him for help. He never once refused to show me his tender love. (‭‭Psa ‭66:16)

Thank you my Father for constantly showing us the way out of the holes we dig for ourselves. Hallelujah! ❤️

Listen to how they whisper their slander against me, saying: “Look! He’s hopeless! Even God can’t save him from this!”

Pause in his presence

But in the depths of my heart I truly know that you, Yahweh, have become my Shield; You take me and surround me with yourself. Your glory covers me continually. You lift high my head when I bow low in shame. I have cried out to you, Yahweh, from your holy presence. You send me a Father’s help.

Pause in his presence

So now I’ll lie down and sleep like a baby— then I’ll awake in safety, for you surround me with your glory. Even though dark powers prowl around me, I won’t be afraid. I simply cry out to you: “Rise up and help me, Lord! Come and save me!” And you will slap them in the face, breaking the power of their words to harm me. My true hero comes to my rescue, for the Lord alone is my Savior. What a feast of favor and bliss he gives his people! Pause in his presence” (Psa ‭3:2)

Our Father tells me that we need to hear this today and that we should take time to PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE . ❤️

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes…” (‭‭Jere 29:12)

I remember listening to the amazing testimony of a man who ran a huge drug and prostitution ring. He was into money laundering and pretty much every vice going – all for money. In his own words ‘he modelled himself on evil and ruthlessly ran his empire that way.’

He took his pleasure wherever he found it and nothing touched him … until he met a certain lady!

This lady was different, she was ‘special.’ In face he became so engrossed with her that he took her as his special woman. When she became pregnant to him, he built a house for her and placed her and his new daughter safely miles away from the dark side of the city he worked in.

In effect he ran two lives. One as kingpin of his evil empire, the other as a loving, doting father. Until his secret life became known and he was challenged by one of his subordinates. He was beaten severely, his body, legs and hands broken and unceremoniously dumped in the trash to die.

As he lay there, bleeding out the last of his life, he met with the Lord … He turned his life around and is now a minister for the Lord.

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes…” (‭‭Jere 29:12) ❤️🙏🏻❤️

Then the people of the region came out to see for themselves what had happened. When they came to where Jesus was, they discovered the notorious madman totally set free. He was clothed, speaking intelligently, and sitting at the feet of Jesus. They were shocked! Then eyewitnesses to the miracle reported all that they had seen and how the demonized man was completely delivered from his torment. After hearing about such amazing power, the townspeople became frightened. Soon all the people of the region of the Gerasenes and the surrounding country begged Jesus to leave them, for they were gripped with fear. (‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:35)

This got me thinking that like a child, fear comes through uncertainty – in effect, we fear the unknown, we fear getting it wrong and suffering the consequence (and shame).

If we were faced with a ‘possessed madman’ as a child, we’d probably hide behind our mothers, or as we grow older, our friends or colleagues… we’d adopt their ways, their bravado, their swagger – but taking on a role isn’t believing it!

Only when we can can truly face the unknown can we begin to discover who we ‘really’ are in Christ.

Lord, please let me feel your calming Presence as we walk together today throughout all the ‘unknowns’. ❤️

(Jesus speaking) “Do you believe in the Son of GOD?” The man whose blind eyes were healed answered, “Who is he, Master? Tell me so that I can place all my faith in him.” Jesus replied, “You’re looking right at him. He’s speaking with you. It’s me, the one in front of you now.” Then the man threw himself at his feet and worshiped Jesus and said, “Lord, I believe in you!”

And Jesus said, “I have come to judge those who think they see and make them blind. And for those who are blind, I have come to make them see.”

Some of the Pharisees were standing nearby and overheard these words. They interrupted Jesus and said, “You mean to tell us that we are blind?” Jesus told them, “If you would acknowledge your blindness, then your sin would be removed. But now that you claim to see, your sin remains with you!” (John‬ ‭9:36)

How many of us genuinely think that we have a handle on GOD? Like the Pharisees we’ve read the instructions from cover to cover, we’ve been to all the lectures and studied under all the best … and yet we still remain wilful to do ‘our own thing’ and in so doing our hearts remain hardened and our eyes blind to His visitations?

Open my eyes Lord, I want to see You … ❤️

(Jesus speaking) “She has been forgiven of all her many sins. This is why she has shown me such extravagant love. But those who assume they have very little to be forgiven will love me very little.” (Luke‬ ‭7:47‬)

Reading this scripture this morning reminds me (daily, hourly, by the minute, and second), that I’m still in a place of needing forgiveness – for both sins of omission and commission…!

And whenever I feel my Father’s gentle Grace my love for Him deepens. ❤️

Every dark way must be brought to the light. Wrongs righted. Injustices removed. Every heart of pride will be humbled low before him.

Every deception will be exposed and replaced by the truth so that everyone everywhere will be ready to see the Life of God!”

This was to fulfill what was written in the book of the prophet Isaiah: “Listen! You will hear a thunderous voice in the lonely wilderness telling you to wake up and get your heart ready for the coming of the Lord Jehovah. Every twisted thing in your lives must be made straight.” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭3:4)

The echoes of this truth are still as loud today as they were 2000 years ago! We are still living in the times of GOD’s Awesome Word. ❤️

(Jesus speaking) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me.

Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (‭‭Mat ‭11:28)

As normal, I ask our Father what He wants to say and this scripture jumped right into my mind.

To me, the fundamental parts are: “watch how I do it” and “keep company with me…”

Enough said. ❤️

The LORD is good, A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble;

He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him. (‭‭Nah ‭1:7‬)

Knowing / to be Known.

When you hear long standing friends talk to each other, it’s almost as if they’re using code. You can catch the basic conversation, but you know that there’s an imperceptible thread to the dialogue that you’ll never catch. Their bond is strong and they ‘know each other intimately.’

Likewise when a husband and wife are together, their intimacy is caught through their eye and hand gestures and expressions. All these are a form of ‘knowing each other.’

Our Father longs – yearns for us to ‘know’ him in this way. He invites us into a ‘living’ relationship – a two-way relationship.

His Spirit is calling – will you come? ❤️

If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands.

Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour. Take a decisive stand against him and resist his every attack with strong, vigorous faith. For you know that your believing brothers and sisters around the world are experiencing the same kinds of troubles you endure.

And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up.

And he has all the power needed to do this—forever! Amen. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6)

I began with just the first paragraph, but then couldn’t stop adding all the others! Powerful ❤️
