Wednesday

What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.

I know how great this makes you feel, even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime. Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory. (1 Peter 1:3)

Patience is a word that just doesn’t fit in with the marketing and spiel have-it-now world of fast-this and quick-that. But just like respect, honour and truth it remains an immutable grace which can only be practiced through much personal discipline. ❤️

Monday

“I am GOD. At the right time I’ll make it happen.” (Isa 60:22)

It’s just no point pushing for something before it’s due time. Like a baby, even if it does come early, it still needs care and probably even an incubator before it can properly function.

Love is patient. X

Friday

Jesus said, “…Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it’s not possible to see what I’m pointing to—to God’s kingdom.” “How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “be born who has already been born and grown up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb and be born again. What are you saying with this ‘born-from-above’ talk?” Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom. When you look at a baby, it’s just that: a body you can look at and touch. But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can’t see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.

“So don’t be so surprised when I tell you that you have to be ‘born from above’—out of this world, so to speak. You know well enough how the wind blows this way and that. You hear it rustling through the trees, but you have no idea where it comes from or where it’s headed next. That’s the way it is with everyone ‘born from above’ by the wind of God, the Spirit of God.” (John 3:3)

It’s a prerequisite that we can’t avoid to keep. X

Tuesday

God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says.

Everything I hope for comes from him, so why not?

He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, An impregnable castle: I’m set for life. (Psa 62:5)

Patience really boils down to: ‘is it worth the wait?’

So, is what’s being promised better than what I was hoping for? And ‘who’ is making the promise?

For those who have met Jesus the Christ of GOD and have his Spirit Living ‘in us’ it’s still a challenge as he will never ‘force’ his will on us.

Rather, our choices will be covered by GOD as His ‘still small voice’ tells us in Isaiah:

“Your teacher will be right there, local and on the job, urging you on whenever you wander left or right: “This is the right road. Walk down this road.” (Isa 30:21). X

Thursday

I waited and waited and waited for GOD. At last he looked; finally he listened.

He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn’t slip. He taught me how to sing the latest God-song, a praise-song to our God. More and more people are seeing this: they enter the mystery, abandoning themselves to GOD. (‭‭Psa 40:1)

The biggest problem we all have is syncing ‘our’ timing with GOD’s!

Living in an IKEA world, I’m pretty sure that Patience isn’t even being considered in our ‘must have’ list of Gifts.

The thing is, GOD does require that we trust Him to work the impossible and even though we pray that he would ‘click his fingers’ and makes it happen NOW – sometimes (especially where other people are involved), it takes time.
Holy Spirit, please help me to receive your Gift of Patience… X

Friday – 23/9/16

Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit. He said, “There was once a judge in some city who never gave God a thought and cared nothing for people. A widow in that city kept after him: ‘My rights are being violated. Protect me!’

He never gave her the time of day. But after this went on and on he said to himself, ‘I care nothing what God thinks, even less what people think. But because this widow won’t quit badgering me, I’d better do something and see that she gets justice—otherwise I’m going to end up beaten black-and-blue by her pounding.’

Then the Master said, “Do you hear what that judge, corrupt as he is, is saying? So what makes you think God won’t step in and work justice for his chosen people, who continue to cry out for help? Won’t he stick up for them? I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?” (Luke‬ ‭18:1)

Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. (Rev 3:6‬). X

Wednesday – 7/9/16

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope! (Rom 15:13)

Hands in the air, me and patience need to truly connect. And while I’m believing and looking for a change, an outcome, a promise to materialise, then it’s only Papà’s Hope that keeps me alive.

Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You. Stir up Your beautiful Hope within me. Amen! X
