Day 64/365

And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.” (‭‭1 Sam‬ ‭3:10‬)

Many years ago the Lord asked me to write a book and although I initially set about it with gusto, something my wife said stuck in my mind. “You won’t be able to finish it until you’ve met all the characters …”

Well … after 35 years of searching, I believe I’ve finally met all the characters I needed in order to complete the first draft and my book has now been sent to a sister for her (much appreciated) professional review.

I’m not telling you this to brag, but to openly declare that I’ve done my best to only write what He’s shown me – only declare what He has told me.

Like the song playing in my head – my emptiness was all I had to bring. My brokenness was all I could provide.

Is He calling out to you? Listen… ❤️

Wednesday

… don’t turn your back on GOD. Worship and serve him heart and soul! Don’t chase after ghost-gods. There’s nothing to them. They can’t help you. They’re nothing but ghost-gods!

GOD, simply because of who he is, is not going to walk off and leave his people (you). GOD took delight in making you into his very own people.

And neither will I walk off and leave you. That would be a sin against GOD! I’m staying right here at my post praying for you and teaching you the good and right way to live. But I beg of you, fear GOD and worship him honestly and heartily. You’ve seen how greatly he has worked among you! (‭‭1 Sam ‭12:20)

Whether we understand it, appreciate it – or even like it, ‘someone’ has been tasked by the Holy Spirit to bring you before GOD – right now, in prayer!

And who instigated it? Not them – your name and need just popped into their heart! How humbling is that? Thank You Lord. ❤️

Monday

“My child, will you treasure my wisdom? Then, and only then, will you acquire it. And only if you accept my advice and hide it within will you succeed.

So train your heart to listen when I speak and open your spirit wide to expand your discernment— then pass it on to your sons and daughters.” (‭‭Pro 2:1)

No matter how many ‘friends’ we gather around us, aren’t all of us really on a solo journey? Don’t all of us individually look for direction – each day? Yes, people can get into your head and mess with your heart, but there’s only one Master of your heart – Jesus, the One who created you for His Glory!

This is a beautiful Scripture with a golden thread of hope woven through each seam. A promise that GOD’s Wisdom can (and will) bring ‘life’ to all that we hold dear – no matter where they are on ‘their’ solo journey!

In the film: ‘A few good men,’ a Colonel under cross examination blurts out, “You can’t handle the truth!”

Child of the Living GOD, the Holy Spirit that is pounding in your heart right now, is telling you that you can! ❤️

Saturday

So Jesus said, “I speak to you timeless truth. The Son is not able to do anything from himself or through my own initiative. I only do the works that I see the Father doing, for the Son does the same works as his Father.

“Because the Father loves his Son so much, he always reveals to me everything that he is about to do. And you will all be amazed when he shows me even greater works than what you’ve seen so far!” (‭‭John‬ ‭5:19)

Break this down – Jesus, the Captain of our Faith – the one who raised people from the dead, opened blind eyes, healed leper’s, and even more – is telling us that it is in, and during, his relationship with his (and our) Father GOD that he receives instruction as to what to do …!

“And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you know him intimately because he remains with you and will live inside you.

“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him. Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!”

“Loving me empowers you to obey my commands.” (‭‭John‬ ‭14:12) ❤️

Monday

So make wisdom your quest— search for the revelation of life’s meaning. (‭‭Pro ‭4:5‬)

I remember saying that I ‘woke up’ at the age of 27 – and I then began wondering what life was really all about!

Then at 29 my eyes opened and I ‘grew up’ – and recognised that in order to survive in this world, I had certain responsibilities that I couldn’t shirk anymore!

By the age of 31, I had already searched through and studied most of the worlds religions and ways of ‘enlightenment’ – including some of the more ‘stranger’ paths.

Bottom line … I believe that my ‘willingness‘ (my acceptance), to search for life’s meaning, opened the eyes of my heart enough to ultimately meet The True and only Living GOD in Christ Jesus. In Him I heard Wisdom speak: “My son, if you will take the time to stop and listen to me and embrace what I say, you will live a long and happy life full of understanding in every way.” (‭‭Pro 4:10‬)

Open the eyes of every heart Lord that reads this testimony Lord … ❤️

Saturday

How blessed and relieved are those who have confessed their corruption to God! For he wipes their slates clean and removes hypocrisy from their hearts.

Before I confessed my sins, I kept it all inside; my dishonesty devastated my inner life, causing my life to be filled with frustration, irrepressible anguish, and misery.

The pain never let up, for your hand of conviction was heavy on my heart. My strength was sapped, my inner life dried up like a spiritual drought within my soul.

Pause in his presence

Then I finally admitted to you all my sins, refusing to hide them any longer. I said, “My life-giving God, I will openly acknowledge my evil actions.” And you forgave me! All at once the guilt of my sin washed away and all my pain disappeared!

Pause in his presence

This is what I’ve learned through it all: All believers should confess their sins to God; do it every time God has uncovered you in the time of exposing. For if you do this, when sudden storms of life overwhelm, you’ll be kept safe. (‭‭Psa 32:2) ❤️

Good Friday

Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father.

Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him.

The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. (‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15)

(Jesus speaking) “… I have given them your message and that is why the unbelieving world hates them. For their allegiance is no longer to this world because I am not of this world. I am not asking that you remove them from the world, but I ask that you guard their hearts from evil, For they no longer belong to this world any more than I do.” (John‬ ‭17:14)

Through the Awesome sacrifice of GOD’s Son Jesus, WE have been reborn (born again) into our Heavenly Father’s Kingdom … ❤️

Wednesday

(Jesus speaking) “I am a true sprouting vine, and the farmer who tends the vine is my Father.

He cares for the branches connected to me by lifting and propping up the fruitless branches and pruning every fruitful branch to yield a greater harvest.” (John‬ ‭15:1)

There are so many of GOD’s children that are feeling demeaned, downtrodden, unloved… fruitless.

Child of the Living GOD, don’t go by your transitory feelings! Read the Scripture again and ‘see’ how our Heavenly Father is constantly caring for all of ‘us’ as he both prunes the fruitful branches AND helps the fruitless gain fruit!

Come to Him and Trust Him. ❤️

Friday

…God considers all of humanity to be prisoners of their unbelief, so that he can unlock our hearts and show his tender mercies to all who come to him. (Rom‬ ‭11:32)

There’s a great part in the book GOD’s Generals where John G Lake (a powerful faith healer) is visiting a tiny village in Africa and meets up with a pastor who is holding a small child in his arms. The child’s neck has been broken, it has already gone grey and appears to be quite dead!

Not perturbed by the situation the pastor continues praying fervently for the child. Looking up though at John G Lake, the pastor sees unbelief in Johns eyes and says: “I am praying the prayer of faith and I do not need the hindrance of your unbelief. Please leave me.” Upset by his obvious lack of faith, John G Lake retired to a hut and spend the rest of the day asking GOD to forgive him.

Very early the next morning the pastor comes into the hut where John G Lake is staying and John G Lake says, “I presume you have been away burying the child?”

The pastor, a mild mannered man of GOD tells him gently, “you are quite mistaken John, the child is quite alive and back safely with his mother!”

Lord Jesus, I believe – please help my unbelief… ❤️

Sunday

Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most.

Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! (‭‭Psa ‭37:4)

Spend a few minutes just now and think … “when was the last time I genuinely allowed myself to ‘connect’ with GOD?”

Do you remember how amazing it felt, how all your cares seemed to fade away?

GOD hasn’t changed. Go visit with your Heavenly Papa’ now, He’s waiting for you. ❤️
