(Jesus speaking) “I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father. (John 15:15)

Jesus’s idea of intimate friendship totally overshadows everything and anything we could ever assume. For example, he willingly gave up his life for his friends …

Lord Jesus, I’ve tasted your Presence during worship and I’ve heard your Spirit in my answered prayers, please help me not to just come to you for ‘things,’ but as my friend. Amen. X

Tuesday – 31/5/16

(Jesus speaking) “… I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive —only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.” (Mark‬ ‭11:22)

As I read this I’m made aware that prayer can’t just be one-sided monologue, but ‘must’ produce an intimate rapport.

Lord, please teach me how to pray … X
