God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in him sets us in the clear. God decided on this course of action in full view of the public—to set the world in the clear with himself through the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of the sins he had so patiently endured. This is not only clear, but it’s now —this is current history! God sets things right. He also makes it possible for us to live in his rightness. (Rom 3:25)

Living as we do in such a competitive society it really does take a lot of humility to walk the Christian life. For a start all the Supernatural gifts we enjoy centre on Love and Mercy ‘from’ The Throne of God to us and thereafter should flow ‘through’ our lives to others.

The risk is always to believe that these Gifts have somehow materialised in us through ‘our’ own efforts. As if they somehow enhancing a prior gifting we already had, when actually God’s Word explains it quite differently.

“Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.” 1 Cor 1:26

(Jesus speaking) “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you. “But remember the root command: Love one another.” (John‬ ‭15:16). X
