Friday

Jesus said, “…Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it’s not possible to see what I’m pointing to—to God’s kingdom.” “How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “be born who has already been born and grown up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb and be born again. What are you saying with this ‘born-from-above’ talk?” Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom. When you look at a baby, it’s just that: a body you can look at and touch. But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can’t see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.

“So don’t be so surprised when I tell you that you have to be ‘born from above’—out of this world, so to speak. You know well enough how the wind blows this way and that. You hear it rustling through the trees, but you have no idea where it comes from or where it’s headed next. That’s the way it is with everyone ‘born from above’ by the wind of God, the Spirit of God.” (John 3:3)

It’s a prerequisite that we can’t avoid to keep. X

Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle-wonders. I’m a stranger in these parts; give me clear directions.

My soul is starved and hungry, ravenous!— insatiable for your nourishing commands. (‭Psalm‬ ‭119:17)

When we allow ourselves to close our eyes to the ‘but what if’s’ of fear and honestly embrace the beautiful possibilities of life in our Fathers Presence, then what we call the super-natural will become as natural as it was for Jesus.

Papà I’m fed up with my own carefully mapped out way please show me Yours.

Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle-wonders. I’m a stranger in these parts; give me clear directions. X

Friday – 24/6/16

God’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.
How exquisite your love, O God! How eager we are to run under your wings, To eat our fill at the banquet you spread as you fill our tankards with Eden spring water. You’re a fountain of cascading light, and you open our eyes to light. (Psalm‬ ‭36:5)

Lord, as per Kari’s song: ‘nothing’ is impossible for you, You hold our World in Your hands. I believe You’re my healer, You’re my fortress, You’re more than enough for me…

Jesus You’re all I need, open my eyes to the light of Your Beautiful Presence and hold onto Your guiding hands. Amen! X

Wednesday – 13/4/16

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it. (‭‭1 Cor 10:13‬)

I’m sure that all of us have got oodles of examples of ‘trusting God’ and getting through! I’m also sure that there have been loads of times when our half-hearted prayers were based in the knowledge that we were praying for something in direct opposition to what the Holy Spirit (in us) was counselling.

Bottom line …. it’s acceptable for a young child to have a tantrum when they don’t get what they want. But how do you feel when you see the same reaction in a 25+ year old?

Ask, seek, knock. The answer will come – but be prepared for a Yes … no … or yes, but not now … X

Friday – 18/3/16

… the Holy Spirit says, Today, please listen; don’t turn a deaf ear as in “the bitter uprising,” that time of wilderness testing! Even though they watched me at work for forty years, your ancestors refused to let me do it my way; over and over they tried my patience. And I was provoked, oh, so provoked!

I said, “They’ll never keep their minds on God; they refuse to walk down my road.” Exasperated, I vowed, “They’ll never get where they’re going, never be able to sit down and rest.” (Heb 3:8)

Lord the world has as saying when we ask “how are you,” they respond: “I’m getting there!” Well I thank You for your Holy Spirit Presence in me and Your Awesome guidance. Please help me to keep choosing Your Way over my own so that I can get to where You want me to be …

I love You Lord. Amen! X

Tuesday – 7/7/15

Though he (Jesus) was God’s Son, he learned trusting-obedience by what he suffered, just as we do. Then, having arrived at the full stature of his maturity and having been announced by God as high priest in the order of Melchizedek, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who believingly obey him. (‭Heb 5‬:‭10).
…God has been addressing our ancestors in different ways for centuries. Recently he spoke to us directly through his Son… This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature. He holds everything together by what he says—powerful words! (‭Heb‬ ‭1‬:‭1.
Lord, this is what the hospital say – or this is what the bank has said – or my husband or wife – or boss – or pastor – or friend … I’m confused Lord and in need of clarity and direction. What do You say? X

Thursday 13/11/14

So he (Jesus) said, “When you pray, say, Father, Reveal who you are. Set the world right. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.” (‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭2).

Amen! X
