Day 55/365

Then Jesus gave this illustration: “Imagine what would happen if you were to go to one of your friends in the middle of the night and pound on his door and shout, ‘Please! Do you have some food you can spare? A friend just arrived at my house unexpectedly and I have nothing to serve him.’ But your friend says, ‘Why are you bothering me? The door’s locked and my family and I are all in bed. Do you expect me to get up and give you our food?’ But listen—because of your shameless impudence, even though it’s the middle of the night, your friend will get up out of his bed and give you all that you need.”

“So it is with your prayers. Ask and you’ll receive. Seek and you’ll discover. Knock on heaven’s door, and it will one day open for you. Every persistent person will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he needs. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door. (‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:5)

Can your Heavenly Father’s Love for you be any clearer? ❤️

(Jesus speaking) “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.

Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.

For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” (‭‭Mat ‭11:28)

“Come.” The Holy Spirit of GOD is calling you into His Presence …

“Receive.” The Holy Spirit of GOD sees all your needs and wants to heal you …

“Be made whole.” Receive The Holy Spirit of GOD and He will fill you with His Life Giving Presence …

Get out of bed … Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. GOD ’s bright glory has risen for you.

The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, all people sunk in deep darkness, But GOD rises on you, his sunrise glory breaks over you. Nations will come to your light, kings to your sunburst brightness… (‭‭Isa‬ ‭60:1)

To my mind there’s never been a time like this – not in my lifetime anyway! A time when people are openly asking why you believe what you do, and what really happens in a ‘church’ service. Where they are amazed when you play worship music that doesn’t sound dour but ALIVE…!

Child of the Living GOD, you’ve been commissioned to show your world that GOD isn’t a harsh condemning judge but that His gracious treatment of you proves Him as a Loving, Compassionate Father with an Open, Welcoming and Forgiving Heart.

Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the LORD ]; for your light has come, And the glory and brilliance of the LORD has risen upon you. For in fact, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness will cover the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you And His glory and brilliance will be seen on you.
(‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60:1-2‬ ‭AMP‬‬) ❤️

The eyes of the Lord are upon even the weakest worshipers who love him— those who wait in hope and expectation for the strong, steady love of God. (‭‭Psa 33:18‬)

Our GOD can (and will) come through for us in the most amazing ways. One that sticks in my mind was from a missionary to the Amazon. He told us that he was in a party of 3 missionaries who were trying to cross a particularly difficult river during monsoon. The river wasn’t particularly deep but it was running fast and so they needed to keep their footing and walk as best they can. As additional security, they found a log and holding on to it they set out together to wade to the other side.

At the half way point the river was almost over their heads and the missionary told us that he couldn’t feel the bottom any longer, so he hung on for fear of life, but the other two must have, as the log continued on a straight line to the other bank.

Once there the missionary thanked the other two for saving his life by keeping on walking when he couldn’t any longer. The other two bowed their heads in awe and confessed that they too couldn’t feel the bottom any longer, so they too just hung on to the log in fear.

So no ones feet guided the log against the pull of the river and it’s strong current, and yet all of them arrived safely.

Be encouraged Child of the Living GOD. We serve an awesome GOD. ❤️

… submit to the authority of those who are your masters—not only to those who are kind and gentle but even to those who are hard and difficult.

You find God’s favour by deciding to please God even when you endure hardships because of unjust suffering. For what merit is it to endure mistreatment for wrongdoing? Yet if you are mistreated when you do what is right, and you faithfully endure it, this is commendable before God.

In fact, you were called to live this way, because Christ also suffered in your place, leaving you his example for you to follow. He never sinned and he never spoke deceitfully. When he was verbally abused, he did not return with an insult; when he suffered, he would not threaten retaliation.

Jesus faithfully entrusted himself into the hands of God, who judges righteously. He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we would be dead to sin and live for righteousness. Our instant healing flowed from his wounding. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:18)

I read this and my heart sinks. Do I really entrust ALL of me to your care Lord? Let me begin with something simple – please help me to stop being so easily hurt and offended. ❤️

Never retaliate when someone treats you wrongly, nor insult those who insult you, but instead, respond by speaking a blessing over them—because a blessing is what God promised to give you. For the Scriptures tell us:

Whoever wants to embrace true life and find beauty in each day must stop speaking evil, hurtful words and never deceive in what they say. Always turn from what is wrong and cultivate what is good; eagerly pursue peace in every relationship, making it your prize. For the eyes of the Lord Yahweh rest upon the godly, and his heart responds to their prayers. But he turns his back on those who practice evil. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:9)

How many times have I gone round (and around, and around) this mountain. All I an tell you is that if you want to get out from the mess you’re in, and don’t want your prayers hindered, then please take notice of what the Spirit says. ❤️

Hatred keeps old quarrels alive, but love draws a veil over every insult and finds a way to make sin disappear. (Pro 10:12‬)

So love finds a way to make sin disappear! What an amazing statement. If GOD has made love that powerful then what do we want from love?

Most of us will agree that when we mess up (and we do – often), we don’t want recrimination. What we actually want is kind, constant, and honest communication. We want to see love in action and not a rebuke. We want to see the seed of hope we have left flourish in a garden of peace. A place of willingness that works through difficulties and disagreements.

Likewise, we all have to go through the stress and strain of daily life, so we want our relationships to be interwoven through with a sense of humor, some fun that will act as a bit of distraction from all the la la the world throws up.

Bottom line, it’s a scary world out there and who better to help us all through life lessons than the One Who Overcame them all …?!

Lord Jesus, only you can ever know what my heart is feeling right now, and only you can remove and heal me from the harming flotsam and jetsam that wash up onto my shores daily. Come into my life and help me to love as you do me. Amen. ❤️

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end…

…we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love. (‭‭1 Cor‬ ‭13) ❤️

I can testify that the Word is true and deserves to be received by all, for Jesus Christ came into the world to bring sinners back to life—even me, the worst sinner of all! (1 Tim 1:15)

We’re living in unprecedented times where the effects of unchecked fear grows rampant in our society. Fear from false news, fear of Covid-19, fear of job losses, fear of financial issues, fear of physical and mental issues, fear of loneliness, fear of what we’re becoming …!

But take heart, for just like Paul, we too can be saved – even from ourselves!

… I was captured by grace, so that Jesus Christ could display through me the outpouring of his Spirit as a pattern to be seen for all those who would believe in him for eternal life. Because of this my praises rise to the King of all the universe who is indestructible, invisible, and full of glory, the only God who is worthy of the highest honours throughout all of time and throughout the eternity of eternities! Amen! (‭‭1 Tim‬ ‭1:16) ❤️

(GOD speaking) “My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. (‭‭2 Cor‬ ‭12:9)

This past few days I’ve tried to encourage you with stories of GOD’s Awesome Grace – His outworking Love in action.

And for every story recounted of GOD’s Grace, the ripple effect of encouragement will continue to reverberate throughout millions of broken and open hearts all over the world.

Child of the Living GOD, we are all weak, we all fall short, we all have sorrows that only Heaven can heal. Our Fathers Grace is enough. His Strength comes into its own in our time of weakness.

Look into His eyes and ask … ❤️
