You draw near to those who call out to you, listening closely, especially when their hearts are true. Psa ‭145:18)

I received a few work-related emails some weeks ago that weren’t very pleasant, and to be honest, I didn’t take the (poorly veiled) criticisms too well. NB – I’m actually not telling you this for some sort of support but to point out that my reaction wasn’t in any way holy.

The overall hurt I felt didn’t throw me onto Christ but into self-justification – in effect, I got angry and immediately set about trying to justify myself (and the vindication I needed).

Unfortunately, for those of us in this position, GOD’s Word ‘clearly‘ states that sensitivity is a symptom of pride; we’re easily hurt, and our egos become quickly deflated when others point out our mistakes.

Bottom line – is my earthly position more important than my standing with my Heavenly Father?

So I turn again to the One who sees all my heart’s motives. The One who Loves me enough to NEVER stop searching me – my loving Healer (mental, physical and spiritual) and Eternal Friend.

You keep every promise you’ve ever made to me! Since your love for me is constant and endless, I ask you, Lord, to finish every good thing that you’ve begun in me! (‭‭Psa 138:8‬) ❤️

KARP (VOL I)

ADVENTURES & ANGELS

My book has finally been published …

Other than the Prologue, which has been deliberately paused at the part of the supernatural intervention of GOD, the remaining chapters are written to introduce a wonderful character called Karp and his accompanying characters.

Most of the poignant life stories we review have either been based upon my own life experiences, testimonies I’ve read and heard, or heart-rending situations that have impacted me sufficiently to make me want to shout out and echo the words of so many philosophers before me through the ages, “those who cannot learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.”

As we meet each character and they open their lives to examination, we see how similar we all really are. How the same grasping passions that were at work in our ancestors in the first century – greed, pride, fear, doubt and even self-loathing, run eternally and consistently through us all within the twenty-first. Even though we view life through a harsh unbending prism of reality because the light and hope of God burns anew and ever faithful towards his children who are locked within their own personal struggles.

In the opening chapters, we see how Karp’s family perished through an outbreak of Cholera and how, in his depressive state, he was kidnapped, brutally abused, and forced into slavery, yet divinely protected and ultimately loved and mothered through the rekindled kindness of a lonely old spinster, who we find is none other than a seventy-year-old, depressed, and companionless, Mary Magdalene.

We also meet several other predominant characters who have already enjoyed a footnote in Christian lore and world mythology. These characters are brought back into the light within the pages of the book, and as we investigate their lives, I believe that we, too, will be challenged by their choices.

From helping a King to rescue a kidnapped princess and working covertly with the occupying Roman forces to rid the islands of evil marauding pirates to then dealing with the terrible demonic powers at the temple of Artemis of Ephesus, Karp is always at the forefront of adventurous events and spurs us all on ever to choose the greater paths of hope and faith.

We may toss the coin and roll the dice, but God’s will is greater than luck. (‭‭Pro 16:33‬)

We ALL need to know GOD’s will for our lives.

Think about it, if He wants me to turn right – and head towards my blessing, but I’m insisting on heading left, then how can He bless me when it’s the wrong path?

I can’t remember how many times someone has asked me to pray for them for ‘the will of GOD’ to be revealed to them, and I respond the same way I have for many years. “Put on your walking shoes and your coat and go for a long walk – preferably somewhere quiet so you can have no distractions. Take a pen and paper with you too, because you’ll need them to write down all that He tells you…”

Lord GOD, help us to let go of all the ‘things’ and ‘thoughts’ that WE have convinced ourselves that we can’t possibly do without and that will (somehow) benefit our lives … and in laying them down, to turn to You and honestly ask, “Holy Father, what is Your Perfect will for my life?”

… and please, Holy Spirit, then give me the heart (and courage) to perform it for Your Glory and my benefit. ❤️

GOD also says: “When the time’s ripe, I answer you. When victory’s due, I help you.

I form you and use you to reconnect the people with me, To put the land in order, to resettle families on the ruined properties.

I tell prisoners, ‘Come on out. You’re free!’ and those huddled in fear, ‘It’s all right. It’s safe now.’” (‭‭Isa 49:8)

Each one of us has been allocated an active part in GOD’s Salvation Message.

Likewise, each one of us has been formed ‘specifically’ to perform a totally unique function – to reach into the darkness around us and pull out those who are lost and perishing into GOD’s Amazing Light.

Each Blessed one of us… ❤️

(Jesus speaking) “But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you.

“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace.

“Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!” (‭‭John 14:26)

I believe that GOD has specifically designed fear to push us deeper into Him, and I further have experienced that being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn’t automatically stop us from fearing!

All the things that happen to us and around us seem to continually draw us into the arena of fear, and while in there, we repeatedly face the sickenly persistent giants of ‘does GOD really…?’ ‘but what if…?’ and ‘am I really worthy…?’

It’s time to get this fixed into your heart once and for all – NOTHING can separate any of us from the Love of GOD!

Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One? Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love.” (‭‭Rom‬ ‭8:35‬) ❤️

Every Scripture has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness. (‭‭2 Tim ‭3:16‬)

I was having a conversation over Christmas with someone who insisted that the Bible is just a book that is filled with the thoughts of men. In effect, he would not accept that these mere men were inspired to write what they did by the Power of the Holy Spirit.

The problem with his belief is that it isn’t based on the ‘Truth’ as we who have had an experience of Jesus the Messiah of GOD … he doesn’t (can’t) hear the Life-Words of GOD while he remains closed to the redeeming Love of Jesus and the subsequent Power of the Holy Spirit.

I know (from personal experience) that while I was suffering last year from yet another heart attack brought about through chemotherapy, the Lord spoke Psalm 76:23 to me, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Excitedly,I began proclaiming this truth over my body, and a few days later, a doctor came to see me and while he scratched his head, he told me that scans had shown that although the right side of my heart had suffered terrible damage, ‘somehow,’ a blood supply was being carried to that damaged part from the left-hand side of my heart – in effect maintaining the balance!

Begin today with GOD’s Word, never mind your ‘busyness,’ let Him draw you into His Presence and ‘minister’ to your needs. ❤️

Don’t, enemy, crow over me. I’m down, but I’m not out. I’m sitting in the dark right now, but GOD is my light. I can take GOD ’s punishing rage. I deserve it—I sinned.

But it’s not forever. He’s on my side and is going to get me out of this. He’ll turn on the lights and show me his ways. I’ll see the whole picture and how right he is. And my enemy will see it, too, and be discredited—yes, disgraced!

This enemy who kept taunting, “So where is this GOD of yours?” I’m going to see it with these, my own eyes— my enemy disgraced, trash in the gutter. (‭‭Micah‬ ‭7:8)

We ALL hear these voices! We ALL blow it – all of us (continually) miss the mark and sin! And that’s why GOD sent Jesus – we ALL need an ‘on-site’ (forgiving and loving) Redeemer / Saviour!

Take a good long deep breath and tell the devil that he may well have tripped you up – you’re down, BUT NOT OUT! Even though you may be sitting in the dark right now, GOD is with you and He will (always) be your light! He’ll lead you back out …! ❤️

Then we cried out, “Lord, help us! Rescue us!” And he did! God spoke the words “Be healed,” and we were healed, delivered from death’s door! (‭‭Psa 107:19)

Grace ‘is’ enough! There is no additional ingredient necessary. No fasting or clever prayers, no tick box schedule, no trying to do something to please Him – and definitely no additional sacrifices required …!

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him..” (John‬ ‭3:16‬) ❤️

(Jesus speaking) “You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.
“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.
“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.
“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.
“You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.”
“Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.”

Do you want to live a long, good life, enjoying the beauty that fills each day? Then never speak a lie or allow wicked words to come from your mouth. (‭‭Psa 34:12)

After an awful lot of: “you should really read this,” I (finally) got to read my wife’s favourite book: Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers. What an emotional rollercoaster!

Bottom line the story is about how GOD Redeemed a ‘hardened by life’ prostitute through the awesome and persistent love of a man.

Truthfully, although I wanted to throw the book at a wall (every time I read a passage I didn’t like), I quickly came to realise that I wasn’t angry at the heroine per se – I was actually angry at myself! I was angry at the games that I recognise we men (and women) can and do play with each other. At how lies and wicked words act like barbs that fester like terrible cancers – reaching even to the very soul.

Lord, the older I get, the more I realise that without your help, I haven’t got a clue on how to actually be your child. All my ‘being’ ‘doing’ and all my ‘busyness’ remains just so much scaffolding, masking the hurting child that you want to Redeem and Heal. Please, Lord, forgive my ‘best efforts,’ come into my life and sort me out … ❤️

Day 60

After this I looked, and behold, right in front of me I saw a vast multitude of people—an enormous multitude so huge that no one could count—made up of victorious ones from every nation, tribe, people group, and language. They were all in glistening white robes, standing before the throne and before the Lamb with palm branches in their hands. And they shouted out with a passionate voice: “Salvation belongs to our God seated on the throne and to the Lamb!” (‭‭Rev 7:9)

It’s no longer just spurious allegations raised by doom-sayers – throughout the world, people everywhere can easily see how chaos is raising its toxic head.

Its purpose has always been known; it seeks to divide – humans against humans, brother against brother, sister against sister, and family against family. We see how ideologies vie for supremacy against basic human love and kindness.

But in this Revelation, GOD shows us that His Heaven – His ‘eternal home for us’, will be made up of ‘victorious ones’ from EVERY nation, tribe, people group, and language.

And who are the victorious ones? GOD tells us clearly: “Every God-born person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.” (‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:4)

And what is this victory based on? Simply this: LOVING one another and FORGIVING one another! Is that easy and simple to do? NO! And THAT’S why we NEED Jesus’s help!!! ❤️
